SOME 147 lucky Malabueños have become the recipients of the certificates of eligibility for lot allocation, making them the eligible tenants of the lands where their homes were built, Malabon Mayor Jeannie Sandoval said.
Sandoval lauded the City Housing and Urban Development Department for facilitating the documents for the beneficiaries to obtain the lot certificates without any hassle.
“The awarding of CELA is part of the initiatives of the local government for the fulfilment of its promise to provide better housing and land projects for the local residents.”
She said that providing lots and housing units especially to the homeless residents and those at the poor sector has been her campaign vows.
The CHUDD chief explained that the CELA distribution was also part of the city’s ‘Programang Palupa para sa mga Walang Lupa’ that aims to grant Malabueños the land where their houses were built.
The CHUDD also called on other local homeowners’ associations to coordinate with the city government for the granting of more lots/lands to qualified residents from different villages.
2 pumping stations inaugurated
With a total of 55, the local government opened 2 more modern pumping stations constructed in the city’s two flood-prone villages.
Sandoval said the Sto. Rosario II pumping station was located in Barangay Baritan while the Dulong Adante pumping station in Barangay Tañong.
“These were additional pumping stations that we would continue to build in strategic areas in the city as part of the local government’s flood-mitigation measures for the safety of Malabueños during typhoons and high tide.”
Meanwhile, Sandoval lauded the Department of Public Works and Highways and Metropolitan Manila Development Authority for the timely repair of the navigational floodgate of the Malabon-Navotas River which was damaged a few months back
She said: “Tanging hiling ko lamang po ay ang inyong kooperasyon sa pagpapanatili ng kalinisan sa ating lungsod lalo na sa mga daanan ng tubig.”
