MANILA, Philippines – Walang nangyaring pag-abswelto sa impeacable offense laban kay Vice President Vice President Sara Duterte, ayon kay House Committee on Justice Chairman at Batangas Rep Gerville Luistro.
Ang pahayag ay ginawa ni Luistro bilang paglilinaw sa lumalabas na maling impormasyon sa social media na ang imeapchment complaint na dinidinig ngayon sa Kamara ay “recycled accusations”.
“There are claims circulating that these impeachment complaints are merely recycled accusations already dismissed by the Supreme Court. Let us correct that. Firmly and factually, the Supreme Court did not rule on the merits of the allegations. It did not conduct a trial. It did not weigh on the evidence against the Vice President. It did not absolve anyone of wrongdoing,” ani Luistro.
“The Court itself clarified that its ruling was limited to the constitutional one-year bar rule, it emphasized that it did not absolve the Vice President of any of the charges. Those are the Supreme Court’s own clarification. To suggest, therefore, that the accusations have already been resolved on the merits is legally incorrect,” dagdag pa nito,
Nilinaw ni Luistro na “technical issue’ ang dahilan ng pagbasura sa unang impeachment complaint na inihain laban kay VP Duterte noong nakaraang taon.
“Isang usaping teknikal. Hindi ito paghahatol sa nilalaman ng mga reklamo. Hindi ito deklarasyon na walang sala ang Bise Presidente,” paliwanag nito.
Samantala, sinimulan na ng komite ang pagdinig sa impeachment complaints na inihain laban kay Duterte, idedetermina kung pasok sa porma at sustansya ang reklamo upang umusad ito sa paglilitis.
Gaya sa kanyang unang impeachment complaint noong 2025, ang reklamo kay VP Duterte ngayong taon ay magkaparehas din, ang apat na reklamo ay nakasentro sa P612. M confidential funds, unexplained wealth at hindi pagdedeklara ng tama sa kanyang Statement of Assers Liabilities and Networth (SALN).
