THE National Capital Region Police Office has a new commander, and PBGen Christopher Abrahano arrives with a career that has taken him through some of the PNP’s most demanding assignments.
A proud member of Philippine National Police Academy Kaagapay Class of 1996, Abrahano is a native son of Santa Barbara, Pangasinan, a background that adds a personal touch to the story of a police officer now entrusted with the security of Metro Manila.
His appointment is not without basis.
Before taking the NCRPO post, Abrahano served as PRO10 director in Northern Mindanao, after earlier leadership assignments including PRO13 in Caraga.
He also headed the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, served in the PNP Aviation Security Group, and had experience in provincial and specialized police commands.
That combination of regional command, investigation, intelligence and security experience could prove valuable in Metro Manila, where policing requires more than visibility — it demands speed, discipline and sound judgment.
Abrahano has already made his message clear: police service must be “fast and felt” by the people.
He has emphasized greater police visibility, immediate response and professional, respectful service regardless of a citizen’s influence or connections.
Metro Manila is no easy assignment.
The NCRPO is the PNP’s showcase. Its performance is seen not only by millions of residents but by the entire country.
Abrahano now has the opportunity to prove that his years of experience have prepared him for the capital’s biggest policing challenges.
For this Pangasinan-born police officer, the real test begins now.
