ABRAHANO MUST DELIVER SAFE AND ORDERLY ‘UNDAS’

“UNDAS” is a solemn tradition, but the massive movement of people across Metro Manila presents a major security challenge.

For National Capital Region Police Office chief PBGen. Christopher Abrahano, success will depend not on the number of policemen deployed, but on how effectively they protect the public.

The NCRPO will deploy 13,084 personnel, including 625 augmentation personnel from regional support units. The entire force will be placed on full alert starting 12:01 a.m. on October 30, ahead of the expected influx of cemetery visitors on November 1 and 2.

Abrahano has directed police district directors, chiefs of police and station commanders to coordinate with cemetery administrators, identify security risks and position personnel at entrances, exits and surrounding roads.

Coordination with local government units, traffic authorities and other agencies is also essential to ease congestion, protect pedestrians and keep emergency routes accessible. Patrols, intelligence operations, security monitoring and K-9 inspections must be intensified to deter criminal activity.

Security must extend beyond cemeteries to residential communities, transport terminals, airports, seaports and major thoroughfares. With many families leaving their homes to visit departed loved ones, police must remain alert against burglary and other crimes.

Emergency preparedness is equally critical. In congested Metro Manila, delayed responses can worsen an already dangerous situation. Every district must maintain clear communication and ensure officers can respond promptly when assistance is needed.

Ultimately, Abrahano’s leadership will be judged by results on the ground. The public expects visible police presence, orderly traffic, immediate assistance and a secure environment for families observing Undas.

Deploying 13,084 personnel is a significant undertaking, but numbers alone cannot guarantee safety. Every commander must translate directives into action, address security gaps and ensure every officer performs the assigned mission.

Abrahano must deliver a peaceful and orderly Undas. His credibility as NCRPO chief depends on turning preparation into effective public protection.
