GADON TO FILE IMPEACHMENT CASE AGAINST SC JUSTICES

PRESIDENTIAL Adviser on Poverty Alleviation Larry’ Gadon is contemplating of filing an impeachment proceeding against Supreme Court justices who issued an ‘erroneous’ resolution that found him committing perjury and making accusations based on hearsay.

He, however, has yet to receive a formal copy of the resolution from the high tribunal before taking legal steps.

”Obviously, those who signed the erroneous resolution were playing politics here because aside from the premature publication to the various media outlets before an official copy is sent to me, they (justices) never asked my side in the spirit of due process which I was entitled to,” Gadon said.

The high court said Gadon violated the Code of Professional Responsibility and Accountability which prohibits lawyers from making false statements.

It also imposed a fine of P150, 000 on him and declared him ineligible for judicial clemency.

”Others may call it a coincidence but to me no, it made me wonder why the Supreme Court would quickly issue such resolution in less than 24 hours when I declared that Vice President Sara Duterte has less chance to win in the next presidential elections because she would no longer enjoy the so-called Marcos supporters’ votes.”

Gadon said he never committed perjury when he filed the impeachment and presented evidence against ex-chief justice Lourdes Sereno during the proceedings at the lower chamber.

”How could there be a perjury when even the Solicitor General back then used my evidence to pin Sereno down and some of the documents I obtained were from employees and an associate justice of the Supreme Court?” he explained.

He said even Sereno didn’t question a particular evidence presented against her during her impeachment.

Aside from being exorbitant, he said the P150, 000 fine imposed on him was no basis in jurisprudence.

”How could they impose a fine on me when they have already disbarred me? It no longer has power to issue disciplinary measures like penalty,” said Gadon as he offered to even double the amount and deem it as a donation for the employees’ emergency health needs.
