MANILA, Philippines – Inihayag ng Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) na natukoy at natugunan na ng pamahalaan ang nasa 20,144 vulnerabilities sa online assets sa mga ahensya ng pamahalaan mula Enero hanggang Agosto 2024.
Ayon kay DICT Secretary Ivan Uy sa pagdinig ng Kamara, ibinahagi nito ang mga nagawa ng ahensya sa ilalim ng Project SONAR (Security Operations and Network Analysis Research), isang detection at scanning initiative ng ahensya.
“Before Project SONAR, we have limited visibility into the vulnerabilities and cyber threats. Today the project has provided us with comprehensive insights enabling us to detect more than 20,000 vulnerabilities and address a significant number of incident reports,” ani Uy.
Nakapag-audit din umano ang DICT ng mga government institution at “responded to thousands of incident reports and monitored millions of cybersecurity attacks.”
Nakapagproseso ito ng 598,056 PNPKI applications at nag-isyu ng 266,434 digital certificates na mahalaga para maprotektahan ang digital communications.
Ayon sa DICT, ang Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) “allows users of public networks like the Internet to exchange private data securely.”
“Our ongoing commitment to cybersecurity ensures our digital infrastructure should remain secure and resilient against threats,” sinabi ni Uy.
Humihirit ang DICT ng P10.4 bilyong badyet sa ilalim ng 2025 national expenditure program.
Nagpahayag naman ng suporta ang mga mambabatas na taasan ang badyet ng DICT para pondohan ang iba’t ibang inisyatibo katulad ng libreng Wi-Fi. RNT/JGC
