MANILA, Philippines – Tinatanggap ng defense team ni Vice President Sara Duterte ang naging komento ni Senator-judge Panfilo Lacson sa cross-examination strategy nito, at nagpahayag ng pagiging bukas na i-adjust ang kanilang paraan para sa pagpapaabot ng punto sa mga senator-judge.
“We appreciate, of course, the comments given by the senator-judge,” sinabi ni defense spokesperson Atty. Michael Poa sa ika-30 araw ng impeachment trial ni Duterte nitong Lunes, Setyembre 29.
“We don’t take that as just outward criticism. I think it’s even constructive criticism because then it helps us understand,” dagdag ni Poa.
Aniya, ang pahayag ni Lacson ay makatutulong sa depensa lalo na’t ang huling desisyon sa paglilitis ay tutukuyin ng mga senator-judge.
“Parang we can also tweak, recalibrate and better present our side kung yun ang mas maka-register,” sinabi ni Poa.
“…So to us, wala pong problema. In fact, we take it as constructive criticism and we will take it under advisement,” dagdag pa.
“So, sa atin siguro as a team, we’ll just discuss this and see if there’s any way to maybe have some tweaks here and there para lang mag-register [‘yung point].”
“But sa atin kasi, we had a target … so if hindi ‘yun nag-register for some, if not all of the senator-judges, then of course as counsel, it’s our job also to tweak and to be able to send the message across clearly to the senator-judges,” pagtatapos ni Poa. RNT/JGC
