MANILA, Philippines- Tuloy-tuloy ang trabaho ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) lalo na sa mga proyektong matagal nang nais na ipatupad ng departamento.
Sinabi ni DOTr Sec. Jaime Bautista na hindi saklaw ng election ban ang tapusin ang lahat ng mga nagsimulang proyekto at aktibidad ng DOTr.
“”Iyong election ban natin is in a few days ‘no. You know, most of the projects of the Department of Transportation are to be implemented long-term ‘no. So, we will continue to implement the program ‘no. Siguro hindi naman kami maku-cover election ban because we have started all activities/projects already ‘no so we don’t think the election ban will affect the implementation of any of our projects in DOTr,” ang sinabi ni Bautista.
Sa ulat, magpapatupad ng nationwide gun ban ang Philippine National Police (PNP) simula January 12, kasabay ng pagsisimula ng election period para sa 2025 midterm elections sa May.
Ayon kay PNP Spokesperson Police Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo, magsasagawa ang mga pulis ng checkpoint operations sa mga istratehikong lugar upang tiyakin ang mahigpit na pagpapatupad ng gun ban.
Base sa resolusyon ng Commission on Elections (Comelec), tanging mga lehitimong miyembro ng pulisya, militar, at iba pang law enforcement agencies at nasa official duty lamang ang papayagang magdala ng baril sa panahon ng election period.
Ang mga hindi sakop ng exemptions ay kailangang kumuha ng Certificate of Authority mula sa Comelec Committee on Ban on Firearms and Security Concerns (CBFSC) upang mabigyan ng permiso. Kris Jose
