DESPITE intelligence report indicating that the self-proclaimed son of God, pastor Apollo Quiboloy, is hiding within the grounds of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ compound in Davao City, he however remains scot-free.
If unconfirmed reports would be true that the Dutertes – former President Rodrigo Duterte and his ‘kids on the block’ – are his magic shield that makes him elusive like a thief of the night, still his days are numbered especially if we rely on Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos’ earlier claim that Quiboloy is just holed up there.
Like what Presidential Adviser on Poverty Alleviation Larry Gadon was saying, the State couldn’t be restrained from enforcing the law ‘whatever it takes.’
Moreover, Gadon said it cannot be reduced as lame and weak, hence, authorities must enforce the law as the State’s authority is largely at stake.
You’re already cornered boy, c’mon better give up anyway you’ve been wanted for violations of several crimes including child abuse, sexual abuse of minors and human trafficking.
Quiboloy is also on the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s watch list, following an indictment by a federal grand jury in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
The charges against him and his associates include sex and human trafficking, marriage fraud, coercion, money laundering, and cash smuggling.
But then, Quiboloy’s quite lucky because he has good friends in the Dutertes who condemned the on-going police operations in search for him.
Other Duterte allies including Harry Roque also came to the rescue of the fugitive and condemned the raid while claiming that the KOJC was a religious property.
The Dutertes could only be returning the favor since Quiboloy was known to have made substantial contributions and even lent his private jet and helicopter during Duterte’s presidential campaign.
Obviously, the claim that the search was politically motivated was a flimsy excuse, given his multiple warrants for his involvement in various crimes.
If he’s truly innocent, Quiboloy could address these charges in a court of law instead of hiding like a coward.
His persistent efforts to remain hidden and his pathetic cry of political bias only serve to reinforce the suspicion of his guilt.
