SARA SHOULD RESIGN BEFORE IMPEACHMENT TRIAL BEGINS – GADON

PRESIDENTIAL Adviser on Poverty Alleviation Larry Gadon has dared embattled Vice President Sara Duterte to resign even before the trial of her impeachment would start at the Senate.

” I suggest that Vice President Sara Duterte should resign from her post and not wait for the impeachment trial to proceed,” he said.

By doing so, the anti-poverty presidential adviser said the vice president would still have a chance to try her luck in the next presidential elections in 2028, the same year President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ‘s term would expire.

” I really wanted her to run in the next presidential elections so that we would find out that they (in apparent reference to the Duterte political clan) actually have no captive votes that they could boast of.”

” I want them to experience humiliations in public because they don’t have enough support from the national electorate to get elected as president,” he pointed out.

He recalled that her father, ex-president Rodrigo Duterte, won the 2016 presidential polls because the so-called ‘Marcos loyalists’ and the ‘solid north’ went all for him.

” At the time, we had no choice but supported and voted for him instead of voting other candidates like Mar Roxas and Jejomar Binay or even (now senator) Grace Poe who were all rabid yellows (in reference to those allied with the Aquinos especially late president Corazon Aquino) at the time.”

Reiterating his dare for the vice president to resign, Gadon alleged that her violations were ’clear and obvious’ as indicated by pieces of evidence against her.

” How can she explain that Mary Grace Piatos who was said to have received P25-million from her intelligence funds, the same name which was certified by the Philippine Statistics Authority to be non-existent?”

” And worse, where in this world could you see someone spending such an amount of P125-million spent in just 11 days as intelligence funds?” he asked.

The Malacañang official said that even the Philippine National Police and the Armed Forces of the Philippines, both have national intelligence networks, cannot easily spend the ‘whopping amount’ in those short periods of time.

” She should resign now instead of getting officially impeached so that she can have a clean slate to seek an elective post,” Gadon added.
