CALOOCAN PARTNERS WITH USAID, PBEd

CALOOCAN Mayor Along Malapitan has hailed the local government’s partnership with the Philippine Business for Education and the United States Agency for International Development  that seek to implement the YouthWorks PH in the city.

PBEd tied up with USAID in 2018 to launch the YouthWorks PH which was aimed at providing work-based training to young Filipinos, helping them become productive and employable while promoting better alignment between industry and the education system.

Lauding the tie-up with PBEd and USAID, Malapitan said the implementation of YouthWorks PH in the city would largely help the local youth and even other vulnerable sectors which could be provided with core employment skills as well as easier access to future job opportunities.

”I assured both my constituents and the project proponents of my administration’s continued support towards livelihood and employment projects.”

The mayor said the memorandum of understanding he forged with PBEd and USAID was only the start of the process as more holistic youth development programs are already underway for this year.

                                  Easier tax payment scheme

In Malabon, Mayor Jeannie Sandoval said it would now be easier for the residents and business establishments to pay their taxes following its partnership with the Land Bank of the Philippines.

“We’ve tied up with the Land Bank of the Philippines to make real property tax payment and business permit renewal easier for residents and business owners in the city using the bank’s online payment channel.”

Through Land Bank’s “Link.BizPortal,” which can be accessed by visiting the bank’s website (lbp-eservices.com), Malabueños can now settle their real property taxes and business permits renewal or application at the convenience of their homes.

“Our partnership with the Land Bank made delivery of services for our taxpayers quick, efficient, and safe for them,” Sandoval said.

She said it’s been the goal of her administration, to provide the best services and make sure that the city and its constituents could keep pace with the changes in the world, specifically on digitalization.
