IN a vibrant celebration of unity and heritage, Malabon City has strengthened its partnership with Filipino-Chinese communities during the 3rd Filipino-Chinese Cultural Festival, showcasing colorful traditions, rich artistry, and a shared spirit that continues to bridge cultures and bring people together.

“Ang ugnayang ito ay ating pinapalakas para sa patuloy na pag-unlad ng bawat buhay, kultura, at tradisyon. Sa pagkakataong ito, ating ipinamamalas ang talento at kakaibang ganda ng kasaysayan, tradisyon, kultura, at sining na ating ipinagmamalaki,” said Mayor Jeannie Sandoval.

Among those present during the celebration with Sandoval were People’s Republic of China Ambassador to the Philippines His Excellency Jing Quan and City Administrator Alexander Rosete who stressed that the festival reflects Malabon’s enduring commitment to inclusive governance and cultural collaboration.

The enduring partnership among the Filipino-Chinese communities highlighted their shared history, mutual respect, and continued cooperation in promoting cultural understanding, economic growth, and people-to-people exchanges that contribute to the progress of Malabon and the Philippines.

The cultural festival, themed: Isang Bayan, Isang Diwa: Pagkakaisa sa Gitna ng Pagkakaiba, was held along C-4 Road in Barangay Longos as the culminating activity of the week-long celebration of National Arts Month.

The city government also unveiled the head busts of Florentino Francisco Cayco and Gregorio Gozon Sanciangco in honor of the two Filipino-Chinese mestizos born in Malabon who had significant contributions in the education, history, traditions, and culture not just of Malabon, but the country.

A trade fair featuring food and non-food products from over 30 participating micro and small enterprises was also held.

Led by the Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office, the initiative aimed to boost the local economy and provide entrepreneurs with a platform to promote and sell their products.

The 3rd Filipino-Chinese Cultural Festival once again affirmed that in Malabon, diversity is not a barrier—but a bridge—toward shared progress and lasting unity.
