ONE of the country’s biggest FinTech (financial technology) companies – Gcash – has recognized the Caloocan City government for its ‘excellent efforts’ to digitize transactions and integrate technology in its services during the recently-concluded GCash Digital Excellence Awards.
The city government received the Excellence in Digital Transformation Award and the ‘Palengke’ Digital Breakthrough Growth Award at the GDEA, as a testament to the city’s continuing partnership with Gcash.
The FinTech giant, according to the local government, is one of its accredited collection partners and a disbursement medium for the solo parent monthly allowance, senior citizen birthday cash gift, and ‘Agapay sa Manggagawa’ allowances.
Malapitan, who personally received the award, expressed gratitude for the recognition and maintained that the city’s initiatives towards technological integration for public services would continue to improve for the convenience of the public.
“This recognition only shows that the city government’s initiatives particularly on digitalization of all transactions at the City Hall are truly felt and experienced by the public with convenience,” he said.
SDO gets 10K new computer gadgets
The local government has distributed about 10,000 units of brand-new computerization equipment to Caloocan’s Schools Division Office as part of the ongoing program to digitize learning processes for both teachers and students.
The tablets, laptops, smart boards and robotics equipment are expected to assist the delivery of synchronous and asynchronous sessions, according to SDO.
The youthful mayor declared anew his administration’s commitment to continuously improve the city’s education system for the benefit of both the school and its stakeholders.
“Ang pangarap ko po ay magkaroon ng smart classroom ang bawat paaralan sa Caloocan at unti-unti na nating tinutupad ang pangarap na ito. Wala naman pong imposible basta’t sinasamahan ng gawa at trabaho upang matupad ang mga pangarap.”
“Tinitiyak ko sa inyo, sa ilalim ng aking termino, patuloy tayong mamumuhunan, at bibigyan natin ng halaga at suporta ang bawat mag-aaral at guro sa ating lungsod,” he vowed.
Malapitan likewise reminded the beneficiaries to maximize the use of the equipment and assured them that the city government is with them every step of the way.
